The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards is a platform created by the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) to recognise, celebrate and reward professional excellence in the country’s broadcasting industry.

In an invitation letter that was signed by executive secretary of the body, Yemisi Bamgbose to prospective attendees of the award ceremony, it said the primary objective is the elevation of domestic broadcasting standards by motivating professionals to be better at the duties of informing, educating and entertaining the public.

The Nigeria broadcasting awards have been endorsed by the over 300 BON member-stations, legendary broadcasters and broadcast industry stakeholders.

Over 600 entries received after close of entries are currently receiving attention of a 7-man judges’ committee selected from notable industry players and organisations, Bamgbose said. The judges and the public determine the eventual winners through 60:40 vote ratio.

Also, to be recognised are those that have made landmark contributions to broadcasting in Nigeria.

“The award ceremony, conceived as a glamour befitting the industry, will hold on May 17, 2023 at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Time: 6:30 to 9:00 pm,” Bamgbose said.
