Legendary Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler is reportedly fighting for her health after suffering complications following emergency bowel surgery in Portugal.

The 74-year-old music icon, best known for her hit song ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, was rushed to Faro Hospital late last month after doctors diagnosed her with a perforated intestine. She subsequently underwent emergency surgery.

Although Tyler was initially said to be recovering well after the operation, reports claim her condition later worsened, leading doctors to place her in an induced coma. She is currently said to be receiving intensive care treatment and remains on ventilator support as medical experts closely monitor her condition.

Just days before the setback, her spokesperson had reassured fans that the surgery was successful and that the singer was looking forward to making a full recovery.

Her husband, Robert Sullivan, and daughter, Ruth, are reportedly by her side during the difficult period, while the family has appealed for privacy and compassion.

Fans across the world have since flooded social media with messages of support for the veteran singer, who had been preparing for a European tour later this year.
