Minister of Transportation Senator Said Ahmed Alkali has condemned the recent bomb blast at Al Adum Jummuat Mosque in Gamboru market area of Maiduguri.

The minister, who described the incident as barbaric and inhumane, maintained that peace is the bedrock of any meaningful development globally.

His special adviser, Umar Alkali Jibril, said in a statement yesterday that the minister also commiserated with the government and people of Borno State over the incident, and prayed for the repose of souls of the deceased and quick recovery for those who sustained injuries.

Preliminary report from the state police command indicated that five people lost their lives while 35 others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and the state Specialist hospital in Maiduguri.
