Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has urged residents of the state to observe a voluntary fast on Monday for God’s guidance amid the current security challenges.
In a broadcast yesterday, the governor called for collective prayer and fasting to strengthen communal faith and bring relief to the state.
He urged residents to remain calm, steadfast and united.
Zulum said the fast was meant to bring people together in prayer to seek divine intervention to ease difficulties in the state and the country.
The governor assured the people of his commitment to stability, security and welfare, and urged religious and community leaders to support the initiative.
He promised that his administration would provide agricultural resources to boost food production.
