Borno State government has released N55.9 million for payment of registration fees for 150 medical students.

The executive secretary of the state scholarship board, Malam Bala Isa who disclosed this to journalists yesterday in Maiduguri, said the benefiting students are indigenes of the state admitted in the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare in Bauchi State.

According to him, the students will offer 11 different degree courses including Medicine, Dentistry, Radiography, Nursing, Environmental Health, among other courses.

“The scholarship programme is in line with the 25-year development plan of Governor Zulum’s administration to train more health professionals in order to improve healthcare services especially in the rural areas,” Isa said.
