The Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, has condemned the bombing that occurred at Al Adum Jummuat Mosque in Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri, Borno State.
The minister, who described the incident as barbaric and inhumane, maintained that peace is the bedrock of any meaningful development globally.
Alkali, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Umar Alkali Jibril, also commiserated with the government and people of Borno State over the incident.
He prayed for the repose of the deceased persons’ souls and quick recovery of those who sustained injuries.
Preliminary report from the Borno State Police Command stated that five persons lost their lives while 35 others sustained various degree of injuries during the attack.
LEADERSHIP reports that the injured persons were receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and the state Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
