Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on Tuesday, called on parties to the disputed land in Oyo and Osun States’ communities to allow the two states to resolve the land disagreement amicably.
Oyelade noted that the media feed on flammable situation such as this and while unending hostile public statements feed the media nest, could be injurious and distracting to the efforts being made by governors of the two states.
According to the commissioner, the both state governments believe that the protracted land dispute is not intractable and traditional institutions should not be a clog in the wheel of peaceful resolution.
He explained that Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke of Oyo and Osun states respectively,were cooperating fully with the National Boundary Commission through their representatives and believe that amicable solution will be arrived at soon.
