The Bureau of Public Service Reforms and the Bureau of Public Enterprises have announced plans to partner to drive reform initiatives in the public service.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Abuja by Aliyu Umar, Head Strategic Communication, BPSR.

He said the announcement was made during BPSR’s Director-General, Mr Dasuki Arabi’s courtesy visit to the BPE headquarters in Abuja.

Arabi stated that ā€œThe BPSR has been at the forefront of driving reform initiatives across Nigeria’s public sector, with a mandate to initiate, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of reforms.ā€

He emphasized the importance of the collaboration between the two bureaus, highlighting potential areas of synergy, including joint reform initiatives, capacity-building programmes, and knowledge sharing.

ā€œWe believe that by working together, we can leverage each other’s strengths and expertise to drive meaningful reforms in the public sector,ā€ he said.

Among the key areas for collaboration, Arabi mentioned joint reform initiatives aimed at improving public service efficiency, capacity-building programmes designed to enhance public servants’ skills, and establishing a knowledge-sharing platform for best practices in public sector reforms.

In his welcome address, the DG of BPE expressed his gratitude for the visit and reiterated the importance of the partnership between the two agencies.

He acknowledged BPSR’s critical role in public sector reforms, stating, ā€œThe BPSR, under the leadership of Mr. Arabi, has made invaluable contributions to public sector reforms, and we at BPE recognize and appreciate the tireless efforts that have been dedicated to transforming our public service into one that is more responsive, accountable, and capable of meeting the needs of the Nigerian people.ā€
