The immediate-past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, SAN, has been declared winner of the Labour Party (LP) governorship primary election in Edo State.

After the exercise held on Friday afternoon in Benin City, the State capital, the Electoral Committee declared Akpata as the winner, having scored the highest number of votes.
