After a stalement for more than two years, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo Kingdom.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday by the chief press secretary (CPS) to the governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, in Ibadan, the state capital.

LEADERSHIP recalls that the Alaafin stool became vacant following the death of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, who was Alaafin from 1970 to 2022.
