BREAKING: Renowned Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Dies At 98

Renowned Islamic scholar, leader and cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has passed away at the age of 98.

The respected Dariqa Islamic scholar, who was born June 29, 1927, died on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Confirming the passing of the cleric, one of his close associates, Daha Azhary Bauchi, announced, “Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilaihi raji’un… Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has passed away (Wafaty).

“May Allah bless us with his blessings.”

Another close disciple of the cleric, Abubakar Ibrahim Wunti, also confirmed the scholar’s death to our correspondent on Thursday morning.

Sheikh Dahiru was widely regarded as one of the most prominent Islamic figures in Nigeria and across Africa.

He dedicated his life to the propagation of Islam, Quranic education, and the training of students in memorisation and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

For decades, he led thousands of disciples and made significant contributions to Islamic scholarship and spiritual development.
