Brentford Close To £15M Deal For Burnley Forward Anthony

Brentford are on the verge of securing Burnley forward Jaidon Anthony in a deal worth £15 million, with add-ons potentially taking the total to £17 million, according to sources close to the negotiations.

The 26-year-old Londoner is expected to put pen to paper on a four-year contract, which includes an option for a further year, with a medical provisionally scheduled for Monday.
The move represents a significant step for Anthony, who came through Arsenal’s academy but never made a senior appearance for the Gunners before forging his career elsewhere.
Last season, Anthony registered nine goals and four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions for Burnley, though his efforts were not enough to prevent the Clarets from suffering relegation from the Premier League.
Despite the club’s struggles, his performances have caught the eye of Brentford manager Keith Andrews, who views the forward as an ideal fit for the Bees’ attacking system.
The prospect of a return to the capital appeals to Anthony, who spent loan spells at Weymouth and Leeds United before establishing himself at Bournemouth. He initially joined Burnley on loan in 2024, with the move becoming permanent last summer following promotion to the top flight, triggering an £8 million obligation-to-buy clause.
Anthony’s arrival would mark Brentford’s second signing of the summer, following the acquisition of defender Jannik Schuster from RB Salzburg in a deal worth up to £16 million including add-ons.
The Bees narrowly missed out on European qualification last season, finishing ninth on goal difference, and will open their Premier League campaign against Tottenham.
Burnley, meanwhile, are preparing for life back in the Championship, with their first fixture scheduled against West Ham on 16 August. The sale of Anthony will provide the club with additional funds as they look to rebuild following their relegation.
