After a report on the transportation challenges faced by travelers on the dilapidated Gombe-Bauchi highway two months ago by LEADERSHIP Sunday, the federal government has commenced work on the road by reconstructing one of the shabby bridges that disconnect it every rainy season.
The government has begun repair of the dilapidated road by constructing a new bridge at Tashar Tirmi and also renovating the most collapsed areas on the road.
Our correspondent who passed by the road yesterday reports that the bridge is under construction but the highway still demands total rehabilitation in view of the numerous potholes.
