An indigenous integrated energy company, Brittania-U Nigeria Limited, has declared that the fire incident which occurred on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at its Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility (FPSO) situated at the former OML 90 field, now PML 6, offshore Ogulagha Kingdom offshore Warri, is now under control.
Disclosing this in a statement signed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Uju Ifejika, the company stated that a thorough investigation has commenced to determine the cause of the fire incident and that it will share further updates with the public as soon as possible.
According to the statement, “Brittania -U wishes to update the general public that the fire incident which occurred on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at its Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility (FPSO) situated at the former OML 90 field, now PML 6, offshore Ogulagha Kingdom offshore Warri, is now under control.
“The Company has commenced a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire incident and will share further updates with the public as soon as possible.
“Brittania -U Management wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Shell, the Nigerian Navy, NUPRC, NNPCL, NIMASA, and all well-meaning Nigerians who showed support during the fire outbreak.”
