Bruce Springsteen thrilled fans with a surprise appearance as Bon Jovi wrapped up its Madison Square Garden residency on Sunday night, joining the rock band on stage for two crowd-pleasing performances at the sold-out concert.
Jon Bon Jovi introduced his longtime friend and fellow New Jersey native as “the king of the great state of New Jersey” before the pair performed Bon Jovi’s hit Who Says You Can’t Go Home. Springsteen also delighted the audience with his 1978 classic The Promised Land.
The performance marked the ninth and final scheduled show of Bon Jovi’s Madison Square Garden residency, which launched the band’s Forever Tour on July 7. It also capped the group’s first tour in four years following Jon Bon Jovi’s 2022 vocal cord surgery and his lengthy recovery before returning to the stage.
The finale came just days after the band’s previous show was cut short when Bon Jovi revealed he was battling a sinus infection.
Before leaving the stage on July 21, the singer apologised to fans and urged them to hold on to their ticket stubs, assuring them he would find a way to reschedule the interrupted concert.
A spokesperson later confirmed that Bon Jovi had been dealing with a sinus infection but remained eager to continue performing after recovering.
