The president in a statement by his media aide, Femi Adesina, joined the Lagos State House of Assembly in celebrating with the Speaker, who has the historic profile of being re-elected into office three times and serving a fifth term.

Buhari affirmed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain demonstrates loyalty to nation-building that deserves commendation, creating opportunities for others to serve, and empowering many to pursue their dreams and careers in both public and private sectors.

The President commended Obasa for working with different Governors as a legislator and Speaker of the House of Assembly and playing a key role in the successes recorded in the state.

As the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly turns 50, President Buhari prays that the Almighty God will guide his steps to greater heights, and shield his family with love.

Meanwhile, Buhari has shared the joy of the memorable occasion with the family and friends of an educationist and first female Governor in Nigeria, Dame Virginia Ngozi Etiaba, who turns an octogenarian on November 11, 2022.

The president rejoiced with the former Governor and Deputy Governor of Anambra State, whose labor of love in the educational sector will always be remembered, working as a teacher and headmistress for 35 years, before retiring to set up Bennet Etiaba Memorial Schools.

Buhari noted the remarkable difference the former Governor made during her short stay in office, signing the Anambra State Child’s Rights Bill into law, and initiating major infrastructural projects, which earned her a reputation for being tenacious, resolute, and purposeful.

As Dame Etiaba celebrated another milestone, the President urges her to count God’s many blessings upon her life, and the good fortune of shaping lives as a teacher, before the larger political opportunity of sharing her compassion, competency, and exemplary leadership style.

Buhari prayed for the well-being of the former Governor and her family.
