APC Professionals Forum said it is convinced that the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari has laid a good foundation for the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC) led Tinubu administration to build on.

It said in a statement signed by the chairman of its Board of Trustees Mallam Isa Yuguda said the Buhari administration has put in place projects and policies that the next administration can easily ride on to build a more prosperous nation.

“So much has been said about the 8 years of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration but contrary to the position of those who are not prepared to acknowledge its achievements, there are a number of things worth celebrating.

He added that asprofessionals in the ruling APC, they can easily point at road and rail projects, many of which have been completed, while several are ongoing, that were non-existent before 2015.

“Nigeria on Buhari’s watch could be described as a large construction site during which legacy projects like Loko-Oweto bridge and the Second Niger Bridge were completed while others like the Kaduna-Kano express way and the AKK gas project witnessed significant progress.

“Only recently, three power plants were commissioned including the 700 mega watts Zungeru Hydro power plant which is second only to the 760 megawatts Kainji Hydroelectric power station built in the 1960.

“This is aside from the 25,000 MW Siemens power project which is already in its the 7,000 MW phase with the delivery of the first set of transformers.

“Nigerians should also not forget how the outgoing administration broke the 20- year jinx in the oil and gas sector by ensuring the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) that has now paved way for the discovery of crude oil and gas in commercial quantities in the Frontier Basins of Kolmani on the borders of Bauchi and Gombe states.

“And this is coming at a time the government has set the country on a path of economic diversification through various interventions and strategies

that have boosted the non oil sector and made the economy more resilient.

“For us, it is a thing of joy that two thoroughbred professionals, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima, would be continuing from where the Buhari administration stopped.

“This is why we are optimistic that the country under President Tinubu would record more development in infrastructure and other sectors of the economy based on the antecedent of the new helmsman as governor in Lagos state.
