President Muhammadu Buhari has rejoiced with national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he clocks 71 today, with history beckoning on him to lead the country from May 29, 2023.

In a statement by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, the president joined members of the Tinubu’s family, especially his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, business partners and political associates in celebrating the remarkable age, heralded with many years of experience and achievements in the private and public sectors, which prepared him for the historic win on February 25, 2023.

As the president-elect prepares to take over mantle of leadership at 71, the President affirmed that his political pedigree from the 90s, active role in party politics, being elected Senator and later Governor of Lagos State, and diligent involvement in structure of leadership at the Executive and Legislative levels for many years, will serve as asset for good and effective governance.

Buhari prayed for the wellbeing of Asiwaju and his family.

Also, Niger State governor and chairman of the North Central States Governors’  Forum (NCSGF),  Abubakar Sani Bello, has said Tinubu has mentored many successful people as he turns 71.

Sani Bello in a statement described the celebrant who is also the Jagaban of Borgu Kingdom, as a political colossus, with outstanding records of achievements.

Akeredolu in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde, said Asiwaju Tinubu had demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the service of the country.

He said the president-elect’s unfaltering determination and passion to achieve what he set out to do, were so remarkable and truly inspirational.

“We welcome the liberating realisation that with the right leader; with optimism, integrity, and a plan, we can kickstart development and be on the path to hyper-modernity

“You’ve walked this democratic path with honour as a political giant with an enviably infectious positive impact and total commitment to the ethos and tenets of democracy. Your love for Nigeria and Nigerians has continually fired your passion for service.

“As you prepare to mount the saddle, you deserve all the support required of all patriots. Your rich experience as a former Senator and Governor, as well as your roles in nurturing and sustaining our democratic transition, combined with your depth in knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian situation, will be an immeasurable asset to the people of the country,” he said.
