The Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, (CORBON) has inducted 436 newly registered members into the building profession.

Chairman of CORBON, Bldr Samson Ameh Opaluwah in his welcome address at the 25th induction of new builders yesterday in Abuja charged the inductees on embracing innovation and leading the integration of technological advancement into building technology.

While admonishing the new builders that their registration did not merely confer a title but also signifies a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, competence and public safety, Opaluwah urged them to function as the guardians of public safety in buildings.

“As you commence your practice, you are expected to uphold the values and standards that CORBON embodies and carry out your practice with outmost diligence. Continue to seek knowledge, adopt global best practices and contribute meaningful to advancing the profession.

“We are actively working on aligning our practice instruments with international standards and as newly registered builders, you must be prepared to embrace innovation such as emerging opportunities in areas like the Nigerian gas expansion programme for gas reticulation in buildings which demands new skills and sustainable approaches and the integration of technological advancement into our system of building technology,” he said.
