Buni Assures Yobe Residents Of Hitch-free Christmas Celebration

Yobe State Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni has assured residents of the state of adequate measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Christmas and New year celebrations.

Buni gave the assurance on Thursday during a routine security council meeting with the heads of security agencies at the Government House in Damaturu.

The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Hon Idi Barde Gubana, stated that his principal directed him to preside over the meeting to review security situation in the state with a bid to enable Christians enjoy the yuletide festivities.

Speaking after the meeting, Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmad Garba assured of security agencies’ commitment to safeguarding lives and properties of the residents during and after the festivities.

He however urged parents and guardians to keep watch over their children against involvement in criminal activities during the celebration.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the meeting was also attended by the Secretary to the State Government Baba Mallan Wali; Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Brigadier Gen Dahiru Abdulsalam ( Rtd); Bridge Commander 27 Taskforce Brigade, State Director of DSS, Commandant of NSCDC as well as Controller of Immigration Service.

Others were State Commandant of NDLEA, and Sector commander FRSC and Director, Cabinet and Security and his deputy from the office of the SSG.
