A statement issued by the director-general of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, Buni urged workers and the people of the state to dedicate the day to pray for the repose of the soul of Buhari.

He charged imams with making good use of the day to pray in their respective mosques for the late president and the country.

“He was a leader who has done so much to ensure the return of security to Yobe State and the North East in general; he deserves this special honour from the people of the state,” Governor Buni observed.

Meanwhile, the state executive council has held a special prayer session for the late president in place of its weekly meeting, which was suspended in honour of the late leader.

He said Buhari was a disciplinarian, a leader with integrity, and an unlimited passion for the nation’s development.

The governor prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah.

Buni condoled with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the family of the late former president, the Katsina State government, the Daura Emirate, and Nigerians in general over the huge and monumental loss.
