Buni Dissolves Councils, Election To Hold November

Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni has approved the conduct of local government council elections in the state.

This is contained in a letter of notice to the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Mallam Wali.

According to the statement, ” I am pleased to convey approval of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON for the conduct of Local Government Elections on 25th November, 2023.

Governor Buni had dissolved the local government council chairmen in Yobe following the expiration of their tenure of office.

The Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam Wali announced the dissolution and directed the chairmen, caretaker management committees to hand over the affairs of their respective local governments to the directors of personnel management.
