Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has presented a budget of N515,583,000,000 for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
The Budget of Economic Growth and Infrastructural Transformation is designed to cover capital, recurrent, overhead, and personnel costs.
The budget allocates a sum of N192,128,000,000, representing 37.3% of the recurrent expenditure, while N323,455,000,000, representing 62.7% of the budget, is earmarked for capital expenditure.
Buni stated that healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, and infrastructural development, including road construction, electricity, water supply, and other key areas, received significant government attention in the outgoing year.
Governor Buni said the government would establish a dialysis centre in Gashua to provide succour to kidney patients ” The government would also construct a new General hospital in Potiskum to decongest the Specialist hospital” in 2026.
