Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has called for a more harmonious military/civilian relationship in Gashua to promote peace in the area.

Governor Buni gave the piece of advice following a misunderstanding between the two parties on Sunday.

He described as unfortunate that such incident happened at a time when the state was enjoying relative peace.

A press statement signed the director-general (DG) of press and media affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, which was made available to journalists in Damaturu, after the protests by youths, Buni said, “It is sad and regrettable that lives are lost in an avoidable circumstance.”

Buni observed with dismay the recurring incidence in Gashua, saying the state government would meet with the military authorities to bring a permanent solution to such threats to the relationship.
