Buratai spoke at Girau International School’s inauguration and the official launch of its educational activities after two years of operation.

Buratai chaired the occasion alongside the governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, who was the special guest of honour.

In his address, Ambassador Buratai congratulated the school’s proprietor, staff, students, and board members on their commitment to excellence.

“Today officially marks the beginning of the school’s activities, and I see a greater future for all associated with Girau International School. Your motto, ‘Learn, Live, and Achieve,’ is a powerful reminder for our students that knowledge is key, and through hard work and dedication, they will achieve great heights,” he stated.

Governor Uba Sani, represented by Hajiya Amina Sani Bello, SA Student Matters, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the transformative power of education.

“Girau International School embodies our commitment to excellence, providing a nurturing environment where students can explore their passions and develop their talents. We are confident that this institution will shape our state and country’s future leaders and innovators,” she remarked.

The ceremony highlighted Girau International School’s dedication to inclusivity and accessibility, with initiatives to support orphans and underprivileged students.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Usman Gur Mohammed, addressed the critical need for investment in education, particularly in the context of girl-child education and community involvement.

“Education is the bedrock of any society, and we must invest in it to develop as a nation,” he said.

The school has already made significant strides, with enrollment growing from 34 students in its inaugural year to over 300 in the current academic session.

The Kaduna State School Quality Assurance Authority has categorised Girau International School as Category A, recognising its commitment to high educational standards.

In addition to a robust curriculum that blends Nigerian and British educational frameworks, the school is committed to maintaining state-of-the-art facilities and a secure environment for its students.

The Board of Directors announced plans to enhance science laboratories and sporting facilities and incorporate modern skills such as robotics and artificial intelligence into the curriculum.

Other dignitaries include the emir of Biu Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, who served as Royal Father of the Day, represented by Bar Alh Ibrahim Shehu Birma, Alh Mannir Jafaru Madakin Zazzau, who served as Father of the Day, Maj Gen Bulama Biu, Rear Admiral Abdu Adamu Biu (Rtd) who is the proprietor of the school and host.

The inaugural ceremony concluded with a call to action for students to embrace the opportunities ahead.

“This school is your canvas and compass, guiding you towards success. Your creativity ignites your future, and we have no doubt you will make us proud,” Hajia Amina said.
