Nigerian singer and Grammy Award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has thrown a jibe at fellow artist Davido amid his ongoing legal battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, over their child custody saga.

The tension began when a social media user urged Burna Boy to consider marriage, referencing Davido’s recent wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Chioma, and his custody dispute with Sophia. This prompted Burna Boy to respond with a series of pointed comments.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Davido and Chioma recently tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Lagos. However, days later, Davido found himself embroiled in a public spat with Sophia Momodu, who mentioned the tragic death of Davido’s son Ifeanyi in her counter-lawsuit.

Davido expressed his anguish on social media, saying, “Your constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point u can to just remind us of this tragedy that haunts us every day of our lives… Imade will grow up to see I fought for her… as for now u can have her… P.S she won’t be a child forever… enjoy ❤️ Imade Aurora Adeleke! Your father loves you!”

Following this emotional outburst, fellow artist Dammy Krane accused Davido of being involved in the death of his late friend Tagbo. Dammy Krane boldly stated, “i’m boldly saying @davido has hand in Tagbo’s death. If im lying they should sue me, make everything cast for court. I ready help am spread all hin dirty linen for public.”

Burna Boy then intervened, urging Dammy Krane to delete his posts about Davido. He cryptically tweeted, “‘Odogwu too wise’ who no hear go feel.”

The conversation escalated when another user, @BadLieutenant, suggested that Burna Boy should follow Davido’s example and settle down. “Burna Boy, you should start planning for your future by getting married and starting a family. OBO has already set an example. You’re over 33 now, and you need to understand that you’re not getting any younger,” the user commented.

But, Burna Boy replied, “Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, u nor see wetin him dey face like dis?”

The exchange continued with another user criticising Burna Boy’s response. “You can’t even answer a question like a reasonable person. LOL. Just big head and plenty beards,” they wrote. Burna Boy retorted, “Ok. But between me and you, Shey na betta example the guy use?”

When asked if he considered Adekunle Gold a better role model, Burna Boy agreed, stating, “Ehen! Na wetin we dey pray for be that bros,” expressing his admiration for the relationship between Adekunle Gold and his singer wife, Simi.
