Bus Rams Into Village Head’s House, Kills Woman

A Sharon commercial bus crashed into a residential building in Lambata, Gurara local government area of Niger State, killing a pregnant woman yesterday.

The bus was travelling from Lagos State en route Kano State when it ran into the compound of the late village head of Lambata, Abdulsafur Lambata, killing the pregnant woman.

Eyewitnesses said the woman was one of the travelers whose vehicle broke down at Lambata and stepped into the frontage of the village head’s house along the road to rest and fell asleep while waiting for the driver to fix their vehicle.

The bus was on high speed when the driver lost control and ran into the building.
A resident said the body of the woman was deposited at hospital morgue while the attention of the police was drawn to the incident.

The case was taken over by the Gawu Babangida Divisional Police Station while the bus driver was held at the police station until contact could be established with relations of the deceased.
