Business groups, Association of International Traders and Ultimate Importers Association in Aba, have acknowledged Abia State governor, Alex Otti’s achievements in infrastructure development.
Presidents of the groups, Edmund Igwe and Iroegbu Agu, made the observation when they paid the governor a visit at his Nvosi country home, saying the achievements have boomed their businesses.
They expressed appreciation to Otti for recovering the town from decades of ruins and transforming the infrastructure landscape.
They said, under him, the environment and the roads are better that trucks and containers no longer fall on top of each other as was the case just two years back.
Responding, Governor Otti assured them that the government would continue to play its part in providing the enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.
He urged them to support the government to protect the infrastructure against vandalism and theft, and to keep their surroundings clean.
”Once you are hardworking and you are focused, government has a responsibility of providing the enabling environment for you to do your things.
”Unfortunately, Aba was abandoned for several decades by previous administrations. So, it became a major item on our agenda to recover it,” he said.
Otti said he was happy that the government has achieved so much in two years and a few months but noted that, “There is still a lot to do; we are not resting on our oars.”
