An international businessman, Mr Christopher Emefiele, has denied siphoning money for the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele.
He said contrary to the insinuation, he shares no blood link with the suspended CBN Governor while urging the public to be guided.
Mr Chukuma Emefiele, spokeperson for the family, stated this in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said that it was necessary to put the record straight amid the crisis of identity that has rocked his name and that of the suspended CBN governor.
He said, though they are both from Delta State and from Agbor town, but his own Emefiele is that of the family of Ogbe-Iwaseh, Agbor-Obi from late Pa Emefiele Arose.
He said his own father was late Bishop James Emefiele, a retired teacher at Ime-Obi secondary school, Agbor-Obi, Delta State.
He said James Emefiele is the father of Christopher Emefiele, an accomplished international businessman, who is into real estate development in Abuja and in different parts of the world.
He said there is no blood link between the two Emefiele families.
He said both Christopher Emefiele and Mr Godwin Emefiele had never met, adding that it was wrong for journalists to disseminate false information about Mr Christopher Emefiele.
