Residents and traditional leaders of Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have commended the minister, Nyesom Wike, for the transformative development strides taking place under his leadership.
The commendation came from all 10 political wards within the area council- Bwari Central, Byazhin, Dutse Alhaji, Igu, Kawu, Kubwa, Kuduru, Shere, Ushafa and Usuma.
According to them, Wike’s leadership has ushered in a wave of unprecedented infrastructure growth and inclusive governance, with the positive impact being felt across all corners of the FCT.
They described Wike as a “Godsent” to the FCT, noting that within just two years of assuming office, he had accomplished what previous administrations struggled to achieve over much longer periods.
“Wike has brought hope to our communities. For the first time, residents in both remote and urban parts of Bwari feel seen, heard and prioritised. Roads are being fixed, schools renovated, hospitals are receiving attention, and major infrastructure projects are underway,” the leaders said.
One of leaders, Moses Tanko, said the development currently unfolding across the territory transcends political lines, with residents from all political affiliations, religions, ethnicities, and social classes united in their admiration for Wike’s bold and result-oriented approach to governance.
“Among the most celebrated projects in the area are the ongoing construction of the Bwari–Gurara and Bwari–Igu roads, which had long been neglected. Residents expressed deep appreciation for these efforts,” Tanko said.
He thanked Wike for giving consistent attention to Bwari Area Council, adding that the area council is one of the most strategically important councils within the FCT as it is home to many national institutions and critical infrastructure that serve both residents of the capital and the nation at large. Some of these include: Nigerian Law School, JAMB Headquarters, Dorben Polytechnic, Veritas University and Usuma (Usman) Dam, the primary source of potable water for Abuja residents.
