Bwari School Wins FCT 2023 Talent Hunt Competition

Government Secondary School, Bwari has emerged winner of the 2023 talent hunt competition in FCT. The event was organised by the Nigeria society of engineers (NSE). It beat other schools to clinch the position. GSS Hajj Camp Gwagwalada came second position, while GSS Wuse 2 came third position, respectively.

The schools that participated in the competition are: GSS Nyanya, GSS Gwagwalada, GSS Bwari, GSS Gwarinpa, GSS Kwali, school for Gifted Gwagwalada, GSS Kabusa, GSS Wuse 2, GSS Abaji, GSS Zuba, GSS zone 3, GSS Gaube, GSS Shere and Mpape GSS.

The first position got N250,000 scholarship and a plaque and trophy, while second position recieved N150,000 and third position: N100,000 scholarship and plaque plus a trophy. N10,000 consolation prize was given to the next best seven participants. The prizes will be presented on the 6th of July, 2023 during the Charles Mbanefo Memorial Lecture in Abuja.

The president of Nigeria Society of Engineers, Engineer Tasia Gidari-Wudil appealed to Nigeria students to discover their potential intellectual ability, through invention, technical, skillfulness in the academy studies into promoting engineering sector that would enabling then compte with international best practices for nation building.

Gidari-Wudil, stated this yesterday while making his remarks at the opening ceremony, at the 2023 talent hunt competition for the FCT secondary school organize by the Nigeria society of engineers in Abuja.

Earlier, chairman of the society of engineers, Abuja branch, Engr. Ben Osy Osy Okoh, in his remark said the society is dedicated to providing quality service aimed at enhancing the professional competence and development of its members at all times. He said the body is committed to focused collaboration with, influencing and providing quality advice to the various arms of government, industry, commerce, academia and the society at large, for the purpose of uplifting the country as a whole which shall make meaningful contributions to the advancement of technology worldwide.

“However,  main objectives of the Society are to promote the advancement of engineering education, research, and practice in all its ramifications with a view to maintaining and enhancing the professional capabilities of its members and to provide a central organisation for Engineers in Nigeria and generally to do such things as may from time to time be necessary to maintain a strict standard of professional ethics amongst its members and to advance the interests of the engineering profession in Nigeria,” he added.
