To meet the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for the February 3, 2024 poll, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will today stop the sales of nomination forms to aspirants for national and state by-elections.

The party’s national organising secretary, Suleiman Muhammed Argungu, revealed this yesterday during an interview with journalists in his country home Argungu, headquarters of Argungu Emirate Council.
He said APC as the ruling party would show example by complying with INEC directive on deadline on the sales of forms to the aspirants.

Arungu said, “After we close the sales of forms, a committee will be set up to select the delegates that will elect the candidates for the by-elections.”

The party, however, will on January 9, 2024 open the INEC portal to upload the names of its aspirants who bought the forms for the vacant positions.

Argungu said six aspirants from Kebbi State have bought the forms to express their interest to contest in the by-elections.

He said the seven states featuring in the contest are Kebbi, Yobe, Kaduna, Ebonyi, Lagos, Taraba and Benue.
The APC national organising secretary enjoined the party members to come out en-mass to elect the delegates and candidates of their choice during the party’s primaries.
