Arrangement s have been concluded by the government of Cross River State to play host to about a thousand permanent Secretaries who will be in the state to attend a capacity building workshop for good service delivery.
Speaking in Calabar on Thursday in courtesy visit to the Secretary to Government of Cross River State (SSG), a Federal permanent secretary in charge of service policy and strategy with office of the Head of Service of the Federation, (HOSF) Mr. Ndubuisi Osuji disclosed this while paying a courtesy visit to Cross River State to acquaint the state government with the goings-on of activities lined up for the capacity building workshop billed for early next month at the International Convention Centre Calabar.
In his words Osuji said, “The essence of this retreat is to increase the capacity of federal permanent secretaries with respect to procurement as well as expose them to some issues that will enhance service delivery”.
The retreat which is to be organized by office of the head of service of the federation in collaboration with office of procurement will kick-start from first week of February to enable permanent secretaries serving the government of Cross River State and federal government sharpen their skill for effective service delivery.
“We are here with the Cross River State representative of government to prepare ground for our retreat that is being organized by the office of Head of Service of the federation (HOSF) in collaboration with office of service procurement”.
On the caliber of individuals who will participate at the capacity building workshop, Osuji stressed that the retreat will be for the federal permanent secretaries as well as the accountant general of the federation and auditor general of the federation.
Osuji added that top on the agenda of the participants to spice up the retreat will include participation in health talk, visitation of participants to different historical and tourist attraction sites, visit to traditional rulers before the commencement of the retreat proper the following day with an opening ceremony by the governor of Cross Rivers State, Prof. Ben Ayade.
Other items on the agenda shall include, gala night party for participants before the participants finally leaves back to their various destinations on February 4.
Osuiji said, “We used this opportunity to extend our invitation to our dear colleagues in the state, i.e. our dear permanent secretaries in the state to participate in this very important event of the federal government of the federation”.
