The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bauchi State chapter, has extended its condolences to the family, students and followers of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing his passing as a monumental loss to the nation.
In a statement signed by its state chairman, Rev Dr Abraham Damina Dimius, CAN hailed the late Sheikh as a revered public figure whose life was dedicated to knowledge, humanitarian values and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
Reverend Dimius noted that Sheikh Dahiru was a consistent voice for unity, dialogue and mutual respect, stressing that his legacy would resonate through generations.
He praised the cleric’s role in fostering religious tolerance, mentorship, and wide-reaching positive influence across the nation and beyond.
“Bauchi State and indeed Nigeria have lost a moral voice committed to the progress and stability of society,” the CAN chairman lamented.
He urged leaders, clerics and citizens to emulate the late scholar’s exemplary life, describing him as a unifying force at a time the nation continues to search for lasting peace and social harmony.
The Christian body prayed for comfort for the bereaved family and peaceful repose of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s soul, affirming that his contributions to nation-building will not be forgotten.
