Cardi B turned heads at the 2026 BET Awards after unveiling a striking new red hairstyle while delivering a lively performance at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Although the Grammy-winning rapper skipped the red carpet, she made a dramatic entrance once she hit the stage, showcasing vibrant crimson curls that marked a bold departure from her signature black hair.

The 33-year-old, born Belcalis Almánzar, complemented the eye-catching look with a colourful corset featuring cosmic-inspired shades of purple, pink and yellow. She completed the ensemble with an oversized purple coat, fishnet tights and matching thigh-high boots.

Cardi treated fans to a medley of tracks from her latest album, ‘Am I the Drama?’, performing songs including ‘Hello, Check Please ’, ‘Errtime’ and ‘Pretty & Petty’.

Her performance was packed with theatrical moments. She kicked things off atop a motorcycle before joining her dancers against a cityscape backdrop. The energetic set also featured choreography on a giant roulette table and an impressive pole-dancing routine that drew cheers from the audience.

Hosted by comedian Druski, this year’s BET Awards celebrated the achievements of Black artists, athletes and cultural figures, continuing a tradition that has recognised excellence in entertainment and beyond since the ceremony launched in 2001.
