Cash Support: Yobe SEMA Validates 25, 500 Vulnerable For N50, 000 Assistance

The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has embarked on the validation of the registered beneficiaries of the Multi-Purpose Cash Transfer to 25, 000 vulnerable individuals across the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

The state executive council had in October 2024 meeting, chaired by Governor Buni, approved the sum of N1. 4 billion cash support assistance to 25, 500 victims of flood disaster and other vulnerable persons across the state.

The council has, according to a statement by the director general Press Affairs and Media to Governor Alhaji Mamman Mohammed in October, approved the sum of N50, 000 cash support to each of the 25,500 beneficiaries across the state with 1, 500 person benefiting from of the 17 local government areas of the state.

The executive secretary of the SEMA, Dr Mohammed Goje has in a statement on the process said, “Upon successful validation, each beneficiary is set to receive 50,000 naira directly into their bank account.

“The final screening, validation, and issuance of payment vouchers for 1, 500 vulnerable individuals in each of the 17 LGAs are ongoing.

“So far, beneficiaries in Damaturu, Jakusko, Fika, Bursari, and Tarmuwa have been validated.

“The validation process for the remaining LGAs will follow as planned, with all validations expected to be completed by Wednesday.

“Each of the 1, 500 beneficiaries in every LGA will receive 50,000 naira,” Dr Goje emphasized.
