The National leadership of the City Boy Movement (CBM) has refuted reports alleging an internal plot to review, alter the appointment of its Imo State Coordinator, describing the claims as misleading and inaccurate.

In a statement issued in response to a recent publication in the media, and some online platforms which suggested that an alleged attempt was made to remove Prince Francis Uzor as State Coordinator and replace him with Hon. Eric Uwakwe, Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to Hope Uzodimma, before the decision was reportedly reversed after a leadership review.

In a clarification, the national leadership of CBM stated that there is no ongoing or concluded plan to review the appointment of any State Coordinator in Imo State.

The movement emphasised that the only officially recognised and duly appointed figure in Imo State remains Mr. Paschal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, and no new appointment has been issued or validated beyond that.

CBM further stressed that any information suggesting parallel leadership, withdrawal of appointments, or internal leadership disputes does not reflect the official position of the movement.

According to the leadership, the City Boy Movement operates on clearly defined procedures and due process in all matters relating to appointments and state coordination. Any official decision would always be formally communicated through authorised channels.

“The City Boy Movement remains a structured and disciplined organisation. Any ambiguity arising from recent correspondence is a ploy to discredit the integrity of the group” the statement read.

“All our members remain united under a common objective of strengthening grassroots mobilisation and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Our focus remains unwavering: mobilising support, consolidating grassroots structures, and delivering on our mandate in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for national development,” the statement added.

Cityboy Movement therefore urged members and the public to disregard unverified reports capable of causing confusion within its structure, reaffirming its commitment to unity, transparency, and organisational discipline across all states.
