Kankia expressed his determination while responding to questions from journalists on the sidelines of a staff training program in Abuja designed to enhance ethical compliance and operational efficiency within the Bureau.

Kankia emphasised his staff‘s pivotal role in the fight against corruption, noting that their dedication has encouraged him to pursue this goal with greater vigour.

“The support and hard work exhibited by my team give me the courage to do more in this fight against corruption,“ Kankia stated.

The training, themed “Enhancing Ethical Compliance and Accountability in Public Office: Strengthening Operational Efficiency within the Code of Conduct Bureau,“ brought together intermediate-level staff nationwide.

The Acting Chairman highlighted the importance of such gatherings, stating, “This training is crucial because it allows us to reflect on our roles and responsibilities as members of an agency tasked with the significant duty of combating corruption.”

Kankia further emphasised the need to equip CCB staff with the necessary tools and knowledge to meet public expectations.

„Providing our staff with the skills and understanding they need is essential for fulfilling the expectations of the Nigerian people. This is why we have decided to conduct this training—to contribute to the success of the administration‘s renewed hope agenda.“

Regarding the response to the training, Kankia expressed satisfaction with the turnout, saying, „I am pleased with the participants‘ enthusiasm. Everyone invited is present, demonstrating their readiness to work toward meeting the aspirations of Nigerians.“

He advised the participants to share the knowledge gained with their colleagues, especially those unable to attend.

„You are here on merit. Share what you learn with your peers so we can collectively carry out our constitutional responsibilities effectively.“

In his remarks, the CCB’s Director of Human Resources, Akinola Aramide-Atolagbe, outlined the strategic approach to staff training.

„We are segmenting our staff into basic, intermediate, and advanced groups. Today’s training focuses on the intermediate staff, and we will continue this cycle to ensure continuous improvement.“

The participants, drawn from the headquarters and across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), were urged to make the most of the training and return with practical skills to improve their work efficiency.
