The President of the Concerned Christian Youth Movement (CCYM), Dr. Paul Adama, has called on the relevant authorities to urgently curtail a TikToker, known as Seaking, from insulting respected Christian leaders, warning that if left unchecked, it could escalate into a religious crisis.

In a statement released on Monday, Dr. Adama emphasised the importance of upholding freedom of religion as enshrined in Nigeria’s Constitution, which guarantees individuals the right to practise and express their faith without fear of persecution or attack.

Dr. Adama condemned recent remarks and actions by Seaking, which he described as an unwarranted attack on the religious beliefs of others. He stated, “You cannot attack people for declaring their faith in a sane and peaceful country. What’s all these provocations? If a man of God, like Pastor Adeboye, who has been used mightily by God, shares a vision with his congregation about greatness, why should they be subjected to attacks for believing in that vision?”

The CCYM President further expressed concern over the safety of respected religious leaders, particularly the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, whom he said has been a spiritual mentor to millions. He urged the government to take immediate action to prevent individuals like Mr. Seaking from provoking unnecessary conflict and resentment among the Christian faithful.

Dr. Adama concluded by calling for unity and tolerance, urging the authorities to safeguard the rights of religious groups and prevent any form of religious intolerance among Nigerians.
