To address the shortage of skilled technicians in Nigeria’s automotive sector, Nuts & Bolts Technical Skill Centre has inaugurated an Advisory Board to strengthen industry-driven technical education and improve workforce readiness.

The inauguration, held in Abuja, brought together industry experts, government officials and other stakeholders under the theme, “Driving Excellence in Technical Education, Skills and Industry Innovation.”

At the event, the centre’s managing director and chief executive officer, Bello Bari Musbahu, described it as a significant milestone in the institution’s 15-year journey of promoting practical technical education.

He said the centre was established to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry needs by providing hands-on training that equips young Nigerians with employable skills.

Also speaking, Academy Manager Ibrahim Adebayo said many vacancies in the automotive industry remain unfilled because job seekers often lack practical competencies required by employers.

According to him, the Centre is committed to producing industry-ready technicians capable of meeting the evolving demands of the automotive sector.

Barrister Ja’faru Ayitogo administered the oath of office to members of the newly inaugurated Advisory Board, chaired by Engr. Yakubu Pakshar Joshua. Other members include Engr. Dr. Haruna Abubakar, Engr. Suleima Yakubu Musa, Mr. Joseph Ojo Amakurugbonwo and Ms. Mchivga Ternenge Lillian.

In his acceptance remarks, Joshua pledged the Board’s commitment to supporting the Centre through professional expertise, strategic guidance and international collaboration aimed at raising training standards.
