Chamber Of Commerce Hosts 10th Anniversary Africa Arbitration ADR Conference

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Nigeria has announced plans to host the 10th Anniversary of the ICC Africa Conference on International Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Lagos from June 3 to 5, 2026.

According to the organisers, the conference will take place at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, and is expected to draw delegates and speakers from across Africa and other parts of the world.

The ICC Africa Conference on International Arbitration and ADR has, since its inception in 2016, served as a major platform for lawyers, arbitrators, judges, policymakers and other stakeholders to examine developments and emerging trends in international arbitration and dispute resolution on the continent. The first seven editions of the conference were held in Lagos before it moved to Nairobi, Kenya, for the eighth and ninth editions.

Chair of the Arbitration and ADR Commission of ICC Nigeria, Prof. Dorothy Ufot, SAN, said the hosting of the anniversary conference underscores Nigeria’s continued relevance in Africa’s arbitration and ADR landscape.

She said the conference would bring together leading experts to engage on current trends, challenges and opportunities shaping international arbitration and ADR in Africa, adding that participants would benefit from high-level discussions and knowledge exchange.

According to ICC Nigeria, the conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and interactive sessions, and will be open to legal practitioners, arbitrators, judges, policymakers, academics and students from universities across the continent.

A planning committee, the organisation disclosed, is currently developing a comprehensive theme for the conference, which will cover the full spectrum of arbitration and ADR practice in Africa. The theme is expected to be announced in due course.
