CHAN 2024: Super Eagles B Fall To Senegal In Group D Opener

Nigeria’s Super Eagles B commenced their campaign at the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) on a disappointing note, losing their Group D opener to reigning champions Senegal by a score of 1-0 in a tightly contested match on Tuesday evening.

In a thrilling encounter in Tanzania, a defensive error in the Super Eagles B backline was exploited by the Senegalese with just 15 minutes left to play.

This was Senegal’s only shot on target, which ultimately resulted in the decisive goal of the match.

The first half concluded goalless, with neither team able to capitalise on their chances.

Both sides exhibited solid defensive displays, ensuring the score remained 0-0 at halftime.

The turning point arrived in the 75th minute when Senegal’s C. Gomis found the back of the net, securing the only goal of the match.
