Charterhouse Lagos has officially opened its new boarding house, marking the commencement of secondary education at the institution and welcoming its pioneer set of students.

The inauguration took place at the school’s campus in Lagos. The event coincided with the school’s first anniversary and was attended by students, parents, staff and community members. It featured traditional music, cultural performances and guided tours of the new facilities, including modern classrooms, a fully equipped library and specialist science laboratories.

Director of Education at Charterhouse Lagos, John Todd, described the occasion as a significant milestone in the school’s journey. He said,  “This school was built on a vision to deliver the very best British education here in Lagos, and today’s opening of our boarding house shows how much we have achieved together in such a short time. We are creating an outstanding learning place and a true home where students can feel safe, supported, and inspired to thrive.”

Similarly, the newly appointed Head of Secondary, Mark Healy, expressed delight at being part of the school’s growth. He noted that his experience leading schools across three campuses in Doha had prepared him for shaping Charterhouse Lagos’ secondary education into a world-class experience.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a community barbecue that allowed families to interact and celebrate the milestone.
