The UK government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship and Fellowship programme has announced that applications for the 2025/2026 academic year will open on August 6.
The announcement was made on Chevening’s official X handle on Monday.
The post reads: “In case you missed it, applications for 2025/2026 open on 6 August! Start preparing your application to study in the UK on a fully funded scholarship and join a global network of future leaders!”
Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, Chevening provides fully-funded scholarships and fellowships to individuals who have the potential to create positive change.
Recipients of the scholarships can study a wide range of subjects at UK universities, gaining educational qualifications that enable them to implement their ideas for positive change in various sectors.
LEADERSHIP recalls that in February 2024, the British High Commission in Nigeria celebrated 178 exceptional Scholars and Fellows who completed their studies through the Chevening and Commonwealth UK scholarships. The scholars pursued various master’s degrees, fellowships, and PhD programmes in the UK.
