“Parents need to understand that their children are gifts nature has imposed on them and that they are responsibilities in which they cannot afford to fail.

“In the face of negative trends in today’s society, there is need for them to ensure they give them sound education and religious training that would sway the children away from the vices that have pervaded the society,” he added.

The Speaker said the State House of Assembly was prepared to come up with laws that would protect the children against all practices that endanger them and urged the people of the state to continue to support government policies and programmes at all times.

Yusuf similarly congratulated all parents in the state, particularly the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, members of the State House of Assembly and other government functionaries for creating safe and habitable environment for the children in the state.
