The FCT minister of state, Mariya Mahmoud, welcomed the visiting delegation from Hunan Province and underscored the significance of building a strategic partnership between the two regions.
Mahmoud explained that collaboration in these critical sectors would enable both parties to pool their resources, expertise, and knowledge.

“This can pave the way for greater innovation, effective problem-solving, and enhanced capabilities that are challenging to achieve independently,” Mahmoud stated.

“Partnerships foster mutual benefit, strengthening both individual and collective efforts, while promoting growth and resilience,” he said.

The minister while expressing gratitude to the delegation for the warm reception extended to the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, during his recent visit to China, expressed optimism for productive outcomes from their partnership.

“I also want to commend China for this follow-up visit. You have been diligent since our delegation returned from China, and now it is our responsibility to explore additional areas for collaboration.

“As you have observed the infrastructural advancements in the FCT, those familiar with our previous administration can appreciate the transformation that has taken place.”

The vice chairman of the Hunan Provincial Political Consultative Conference and leader of the delegation, Lai Mingyong, said on Abuja’s status as the capital and political-cultural hub of Nigeria.
“This modern city is recognized for its unique urban planning, stunning architectural style, and well-developed infrastructure, having evolved into a modern metropolis with impressive achievements in infrastructure,” he said.

During the visit, Mingyong extended an invitation to the FCTA to participate in the upcoming China-Africa Economy and Trade Expo, an initiative launched by President Xi Jinping, expressing hope for new opportunities to emerge from the event.
