Chinney Love Pens Emotional Tribute After Mother’s Burial

Nigerian filmmaker Chinney Love has shared a heartbreaking message following the burial of her mother.

Posting a video from the burial ceremony held in Eastern Nigeria, the award-winning filmmaker reflected on the painful journey from receiving the devastating news of her mother’s death to finally laying her to rest.

According to Chinney, March 2, 2026, remains the day her life changed forever, while May 22 marked the day her beloved mother was buried.

Describing her late mother as her strength, pillar, prayer warrior and greatest source of love, the filmmaker admitted she would give anything to have her back, though she has chosen to accept God’s will.

“02:03:26, the day I got a call that changed my life forever!
My strength, my Love, my pillar, my Prayer warrior, my everything submitted to the will of God…
I would trade anything to have my mother come back, but I guess the will of God will have to prevail.
22:05:26, the day we laid my mother to rest! Americana lives on! I love you, mummy, always and forever.”

Recall that in March, Chinney announced her mother’s passing on Instagram. On her late mother’s posthumous birthday, the filmmaker revealed it was the first time she had not been able to call to celebrate her, describing the experience as painful and strange as she continued learning to navigate life without her mother.
