It announced that the recent nationwide cholera outbreak has also affected the state of Enugu.

A statement issued by Professor Emmanuel Obi, the commissioner for Health in the State, noted that the ministry, in collaboration with its Partners, has initiated all necessary steps to de-escalate the situation following the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.

Therefore, he urged the public to be vigilant and adhere to good hand hygiene by washing hands regularly with soap and running water or alternatively using hand sanitisers.

The commissioner further urged people to use potable water from reliable sources and intensify safe food handling and preparation hygiene practices.
