Chris Brown Blasts Texas Lawmaker Over Proclamation Apology

American singer Chris Brown has criticized Texas State Representative Venton Jones after the lawmaker issued a public apology for presenting the artist with a congressional proclamation at a recent concert.

Jones presented the honor to Brown and tour mate Usher at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, but later issued a statement apologizing to domestic violence survivors and voters following public criticism over the singer’s past legal history.

Responding on social media, Brown stated that he did not request the award, accusing the lawmaker of apologizing only to protect his position ahead of the upcoming elections. Despite his reaction to Jones, Brown expressed gratitude to Representative Jasmine Crockett, who was also involved in presenting the recognition.
