American R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray in connection with a confrontation at a London nightclub in 2023, bringing a significant development in the high-profile criminal case against the music star.

Brown, 37, entered the guilty plea on Friday at Southwark Crown Court during a hearing that lasted less than five minutes.

His co-defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, 40, an American rapper better known by his stage name, Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty to the same charge.

The guilty pleas came after prosecutors dropped the more serious charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm (GBH), which both men had previously denied. A separate charge against Brown for possessing an offensive weapon was also withdrawn.

With the affray plea accepted, the court fixed October 26, 2026, for sentencing.
